Around 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems swept through the state, generating strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Destruction
Homeowners reported large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that various areas across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Southern State's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams handled 598 emergency reports across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were expected to linger along significant areas of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with ongoing storm activity anticipated across various areas of both states.

Public health experts warned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
