I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
