Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Player the Athlete
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the league office.
The organization omitted the name of the player specifically in their announcement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, posted a series of photos on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the first six games of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
