Trump Organization Attempted to Bring In Nearly 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s family business accelerated its hiring of foreign workers on short-term work permits this year, while his government was creating barriers for other businesses wanting to do the same, a report released Thursday claimed.

Based on information from the US Department of Labor, the business aimed to hire at least nearly 200 overseas employees in the coming year for temporary positions at the US president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The quantity of requests for temporary work visas for staff including servers, clerks, housekeepers, culinary employees and farm workers was the highest ever filed by the organization, and increased from over 120 in 2021, when Trump’s first term ended.

It was also the fifth time in a decade that the former president had sought to hire over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, based on labor statistics.

The revelation coincides with a crackdown on legal immigration by his administration that has involved the implementation of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; increased review of the activities of the 55 million people who possess US visas; and tighter regulations for foreign students and reporters.

In total, the business aimed to hire 566 overseas workers over the period Trump has been in the White House, from his first term and during the upcoming year.

Notably, the former president was questioned by certain in the GOP this period for remarks defending the need for foreign workers when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to occupy certain positions.

“You can’t just say a nation is coming in, going to spend billions to construct a plant, and going to recruit individuals off an jobless roster who haven’t worked in five years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It isn’t feasible that well,” he told a host after it was implied that foreign workers undercut the pay of US workers.

The administration declined a request for comment, and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to an request for information.
